Modular accommodation for new residential facility
Our client YMCA Thames Gateway are providing 39 affordable housing units to be located on its main site on the outskirts of Romford. YMCATG has secured funding from the GLA under its Affordable Housing Programme.
This is an affordable housing scheme that seeks to minimise utility and other service costs for the tenants as well as service costs for YMCATG.
Following the initial interviews for the design team we are currently confirming contract details and progressing to design stage.
The modular system will provide 39 affordable one bed accommodation units, manufactured off-site. The volumetric modules are designed to be installed with minimum disruption to the site location.
Each dwelling will meet the current London minimum space standards having a minimum gross internal floor area of 37m2, consisting of living/ kitchen area, bedroom, shower room and storage.
This energy efficient building design will minimise the energy consumption and reduce the need for maintenance during the building’s life.
